The Abandoned, A Poem

The Abandoned

Sorrow ... Injustice ... Apathy

My little brothers in Christ
I carry a deep, deep sorrow that our nation has
abandoned you
And
condemn you
to the trash-dumpster grave.

Where are all the strong Fathers who protect family
And
nurture you into adulthood?

Where are all the tender Mothers
who nurse you from their life giving breasts?

Where are the righteous Judges,
the elected Servants of the Public Trust
And
freedom loving American Citizens
with honor and integrity to abolish this

Genocide

I see no chance of preserving the sanctity
of your innocent lives within my lifetime.

Yet, I continue to pray upon bended knee
for our Republic's
repentance and salvation.

What does it take to grasp the physician's knife
from butchering
your fingers from your hands,
your head from your body
And
your body from your Soul?

My little brothers in Christ
I carry a deep, deep sorrow that our nation has
abandoned you
And
condemn you
to the trash-dumpster grave.
