if i had to paint her
if i had to paint her
my palate would be
the golden yellow wheat fields
waving in the Kansas wind
stretching as far
as the eye can see
yes, i might capture
the texture, color and scent
of her hair with these
if i had to paint her
my palate would be
the blue hues of the
Seven Seas
to capture the life
in her eyes
and
God's adoring of she
she need only glance at me
my heart skips a beat
i can love only she
if i had to paint her
my palate would be
the deep red of a rose for her lips
those tender lips, i yearn to kiss
if i had to paint her
my palate would be
silly Poet am i
katie sah
is more than any portrait can be
i hear her sigh
her voice
now laughter
oh, it's joy to my ears
her touch, her caress
i feel her deep love inside of me
